Labview-gpib not working

hi..

i was trying to make some measurements using a GPIB card, but i am getting an error message as soon as the program encounters the GPIB commands. the card is installed properly and all C programs are working fine. All labview programs are also fine, but the ones with gpib commands arent.  can some one plz help me out.. i tried putting in another card, which is working fine with labview on another pc, but still the problem is persisting. also, tried reinstalling labview as well as the card device drivers, still its not working..so it seems like the problem is cos of labview..

Can you post the error you are received.

If you are using VISA, then make sure you have installed this as well.

thank u for ur reply.. it says- "error 7 occured at gpib write in main.vi" ... Possible reasons , labview: file not found    ni488: non existent board

You should be able to see the interface in MAX, and communicate with your GPIB instrument with a MAX test panel. MAX is a good place to start troubleshooting this type of problem.

It looks like your GPIB card hasn't been configured properly. You will need to run through the setup wizard.

dumb question maybe, but is it an NI GPIB card?
