Dear Allan,
It would be helpful to have the Labview driver even if it has a limited functionality (allowing to read the displayed data, measured peak-to-peak voltage etc.)
The Textronics has a Labview driver, even for the most cost effective oscilloscopes. Why Lecroy shouldn't have one?
Best regards

Hi Szandor -
My mistake, you were asking about WaveJet, not WaveAce. The released WaveJet driver does not support USB, which is implemented via "Virtual COM" technology. I was working on a new version that included Virtual COM connections, but it has some problems. I recommend purchasing the WJ-LAN interface option so that you can use the LAN interface instead. I am not sure when a version with USB connectivity will be released.

Hi konserwowy,
I asked the WaveAce product manager about the plan for remote control for the WaveAce. Work is being done to create a remote control interface for the scope, followed by a LabVIEW driver.

Hi everybody!
Unfortunately I just bought 10 units of the Waveace 204 before reading this thread, in the believe that such a well known product with a LAN and USB port would be compatible with Labview. Have any of you heard of updates on the release of FW that will enable communication with Labview? The Easyscope software following the scopes is not even worth the value of the CD....
Thanks

Dear Soren,
I am also disappointed and will probably move to Tektronix if they do not solve this issue.
I Even I do not expect any full control via LabView. Enough would be very basic communication like readout of peak-to-peak values, rms, frequency…
for that one do not need any labview driver, communication protocol would be enough.

Hi Konserwowy
I just recieved a simple labview driver for the Waveace 204 oscilloscope via the LAN interface, which has been developed by a software engineer at Lecroy. It works pretty good for me in Labview 2009, uding the port 8001 when communicating with the scope. I have attached two scopes via a simple router, and can configure them and recieve waveforms pretty easily.
Best regards, and good luck with your project!

Hi Soren,
Alan from LeCroy here. I am pleased to see that someone is working on a WaveAce driver. The driver you posted, however, isn't "official", and unfortunately it doesn't include any mention of it being "unreleased" or "beta". I'm wondering if this was provided to you by one of our very helpful applications engineer, rather than a software engineer, since I'm told that our engineering department has not developed any driver yet.
I'm concerned that the driver indicates the following in the Tree documentation: "This is the instrument driver for the LeCroy WaveAce Series Oscilloscopes." This statement definitely gives the impression that the driver is released and generally supported by LeCroy, which it definitely not the case.
Nonetheless, I hope that the driver works well for anyone who uses it.
Best Regards,
Alan

Hi allan
Yes, it was one of your application engineers that decided to help me out. I understand that you want to be in control of your firmware and driver releases, but looking at it from the costumers side, it is also anoying to buy a product that doesn't work as intended...
I bought ten waveace 204 oscilloscopes for a certain project, without considering the possibility that they could not be controlled by labview. Luckily the application engineer was quit faster than the software engineer, and I am very pleased about that.
Anyway, thanks for a pretty good oscilloscope, at least on the hardware side 😉

Hi Soren,
Sorry for the late reply. I indicated some concerns in my previous post, but I certainly don't want anyone to think that they shouldn't use the driver you were given and which you posted. I'm actually very pleased that the application engineer decided to take action and solve the problem for you!
Best Regards,
Alan

i have LeCroyWaveAce234 oscilloscope. i want to make a connection between this oscilloscope and my laptop. there are two USB drivers as 64bit and 32bit in the CD that was sent from LeCroy. Since my laptop is 64bit, i tried to install 64 bit driver, but i couldn't. when i clicked on the 64 bit driver, an error which is "The current language isn't supported by the Device Driver Installation Wizard. Contact the dealer. " happened.
there is also EasyScope3.0 programme in the CD. Although i set up it, i couldn't make a connection. i need technical support about the issue. please help me.
Best Regards...
