Labview crashes upon start

Hello,

I just installed Labview 2014 SP1 64-bit on my Dell laptop. When I try to start Labview, it crashes about 2 seconds later with Exception: Unknown (0xC06D007E) at EIP=0x000007FEFD29AAAD and offers to send an error report.

I tried un-installing Labview  and reinstalling it again. - same behaviour.

I have 32-bit SP1 version on the same machine that runs fine.

I also  had Labview 2014 version prior to SP1 installed that was working fine as well.

What else could I try besides re-installing it?

In terms of information gathering

1. Make sure to send in the error report.

2. Take a Screenshot of that error.

3. Save the .zip file that it gives you

4. Generate a MAX Technical Report http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/271F252B4EF0A2E0862570E70056A1E4

I found a decent amount of problems that threw the same exception code and most of them seem to happen when you open LabVIEW for the first time.  If you post the .zip file in a response I can take a quick look at.

On Monday I would suggest calling in.  Whoever you talk to probably won't be able to help you a whole lot over the phone but if you give them the first four pieces of info it will get the ball rolling in the right direction.  If you want to try an install again I would suggest trying a force reinstall.

Unless you are working with really huge datasets and have a really huge amount of memory, the general consensus seems to be to avoid LabVIEW 64-bit.  Does the 32-bit installation not do what you need?

Matt,

Thanks for looking into it. Here's the .zip file.

It seems that the problem is with some outside module, since trying re-download/un-install/re-install does not fix it. The last status string that flashes before crash is "Initializing plug-ins"

And that exactly illustrates why LabVIEW 64-bit is usually avoided unless necessary.

I did a quick search for similar issues but most problems seemed to be solved with a reinstall which didn't help last time you tried. After that my computer decided now was as good a time as any to cease functioning so I don't have many suggestions

I would just make sure that you are installing labview from our website rather than a disc and make sure you have appropriate exceptions on any anti virus or firewalls and call into NI on Monday. As a curiosity, do you have any problems running MAX?
