Greetings,
I've been trying to search for an instrument driver on the Driver Network webpage with no luck. Does anyone know where I can find one for the NI USB 6501 Portable Digital I/O device? Trying to limit the development costs for making my own. Thanks in advance. Tried doing forum search with no luck.

You are looking in the completely wrong place and would not want to create your own instrument driver anyway. The 6501 is a DAQ device and it uses the DAQmx driver. The driver is included on the CD that came with it, it's included with the LabVIEW distribution, and is available for download here. You also have DAQmx examples that come with LabVIEW (after installation of DAQmx). You should check out the DAQmx Getting Started resources.
You probably also need to hone your search skills if you did not find any information on the 6501.![]()

Dennis,
Thanks for the info. Looks like I'll start with the DAQmx.
BTW-Didn't say didn't find any info on my search, just not what I was looking for (makes sense since I was unaware the DAWmx was my only option).
Thanks again,
