In version 6 Builder was an add-on but in V7 it came as part of V7. Now
in 7.1 and 8 it appears to be an add-on again - any comments?

Application Builder is included in the LabVIEW Professional edition...it's been this way as long as I can remember.  If you have the Base or Full edition, you must purchase Application Builder separately.  This was not any different in LabVIEW 7.0.
