I'm having difficulty making a VI to scan several serial ports and convert the data into a format for Excel. After running into issues with the I/O Assistant for reading and parsing the data, I've decided to make several Subvi's and have all of them come into one VI for converting and displaying the data seperately.
So the current issue is having the subvi's show the connector plane of me to configure which nodes are shown for output.
Is this possible in the previous versions of Labview? As I know all you have to do is right click on the icon in version 8+
Also, if there is a more effecient way of receiving and converting the data from the serial ports to excel, I'm all ears, as I've only had one week with labview.
