Labview 64bit

I have installed Labview 2016 on a 64bit Windows 10 system but the installer has installed a 32bit Labview version rather than 64bit, why is this? How do I get 64bit Labview installed?

suggests, that the DVDs only have 32bit installer, and 64bit installer needs to be downloaded.

be aware, that not all toolkits support 64bit (e.g. Real Time toolkit is only 32bit)

You should be aware that the vast majority of LabVIEW installations (including all of mine, and the ones of my colleages at my company) are 32-bit LabVIEW on 64-bit Windows (and a very few Macs).  The Toolkits and Modules are not all present for 64-bit LabVIEW, and unless one is dealing with very large data structures, there might be no need for a 64-bit address space for LabVIEW.

There's a decent number of popular toolkits available in 64-bit, but not all, and it isn't always clear what direction a project is going to go from the start.  Maybe you think you don't need the Database Connectivity Toolkit, or the DataFinder Toolkit, or DSC, or OPC Server, until your requirements change and then you realize your whole application needs to go back to 32-bit if you do need one of these 32-bit only features.  For this reason most people still stick with 32-bit LabVIEW.

When you are running windows 10 64-bit, it provides the flexibility to install 64-bit version of LabVIEW in addition to 32-bit version. 

However, 32-bit LabVIEW installer is different to the 64-bit. Thus, make sure that you have the right installer for the LabVIEW version you wish to install. 

It seems that you've had the 32-bit installer for LabVIEW instead of 64-bit. If you go to the following link, you can find different versions of LabVIEW with 64-bit or 32-bit installers.
