Labview 2011 Installation

I was installing LV2011 (PN501400y-xx) on my Dell Latitude 830 when I got a blue screen..Don't think it was the blue screen of death.  I had just finished ( after an hour) w the 1st of 3 disks.  When I re-booted it didn't ask for the remaining 2 disks.  Windows log file doesn't indicate anything catastrophic happened.  LV seems to be working fine I just don't want to get in the middle of a test or writing vis and find out I don't have some features.  I tried to do a "Repair" ( ADD/REMOVE Programs> REPAIR) and that didn't help.  Any thoughts??  The only problem I've encountered so far is I tried to use the examples from the LV Help and its says something like the LV Server isn't running.

Thanks

Hi!

I had this problem also. There was a problem with MAX after upgrading from 2010 to 2011 and then uninstalling 2010. The problem was that since so many registryfiles where not removed during uninstall, the installer automatically assumed that some stuff was already installed when I tried to repair etc. So I had to reinstall windows and then install LV2011. You know, just to be sure everything was OK.

Regards,
Even

You got a blue screen, but you don't know if it was the blue screen of death. So what kind of blue screen was it? Did you see a bunch of hex numbers? Your installation is foo-bar'ed. Perform a complete uninstallation and reinstall it. You may have problems with your DVD drive. Try copying the discs to your hard drive and installing from there. This may also help to determine if you have a bad disc instead of a bad drive. Also, did you make sure to turn off your anti-virus for the duration of the installation? Try installing just LabVIEW, and no drivers (like DAQ, VISA, etc) - just unselect NI Device Drivers from the list of components to install. If that goes OK, then go back and install whatever drivers you need.

Re-install Windows...really??  I had thought of doing an un-install of LV2011 but it takes over an hour just to re-install it.  Guesss I'll have to do that.  Thanks for the quick reply.
