LabView On Linux

Hi All,

I need to work for Labview on Linux.

i have the LabView on linux Software of version 6.0.
My linux is Fedora core-5.

but NI mentioned that:

in page : "http://www.ni.com/linux/support.htm#1"

National Instruments supports the following distributions of Linux:

  • Mandriva Linux Official
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux WS
  • SUSE Linux

This support is provided for 32-bit, x86 platforms only.

So can u please tell me wether my sofware is compatible with Linux FC5 or not.

If so, pleae guide me how to start for creating VIs on linux after installing.

Thanks in advance for ur suggessions,
Bannu.

Bannu,

As we are unable to test LabVIEW on all distributions of Linux we can't say whether it will work with Fedora Core 5 or not - perhaps another community member can chime in with some info about that.  The three distributions listed on our website are the only 3 we are able to support.

As for getting started with LabVIEW the actual environment doesn't change when working on a Linux system - this means any resource for learning LabVIEW should still apply.

You can find some good resources for learning LabVIEW here.

I hope this helps.

Sonic,

Thanks for letting us know about your Fedora success!

If you are having trouble setting up your DAQ card I would suggest you post on the Multifunction DAQ board - the people over there will be better equipped to help you out.

~Simon
