LabVIEWS own OPC server

HI everybody.

I now that LbaVIEW supports OPC server for Siemens 500 series. But how do i start using the server?

Does anyone have a manual on how to use the server?

Is it possible to use LABView as a OPC Server, or works LABView only as a client?

LabVIEW itself does not contain a OPC server but the add on module LabVIEW DSC does contain a OPC server.

As you can see in the following link, Where can I Find Drivers for Communicating to PLCs, RTUs, and Other Industrial Hardware?, you are able to connect to the Siemens PLC using our OPC Server software. Besides that you can use Siemens own OPC server or some other 3rd party servers. You can search for the 3rd party OPC servers from Google.

Thanks for the answer.

I think i now where my problem is, i was told that the LabVIEW DSC contained the server. but i'm missing the lookout add-on module. so that is probely where my problem is.

Yes, you are missing the Lookout Protocol Driver.
