LabVIEW serial port programming using the WinAPI and CreateFile() and CloseHandle()? Yes or no?

Nice and it may work. It's a nice learning project - but you reinvent the wheel.

i was already kind of wondering why you joined this thread but didn’t mention that library of yours. 😀

But figured you might have your reasons.

That's why I am here.  I want to learn what I did wrong.  (Yeah, I said fix it, but I was in a rush, and that's the ultimate goal so... But I really want to know how I botched it up. ...yes, I was quite verbose, vi construction-wise, and inefficient and and ... Ok, what's wrong with my code?) I do not want to go the C dll route, but so far it's looking like I'm going to have to go that route.  I have made some mistake in the vi I've posted, and the write and read is just wrong.

You (plural) are vets. Help me fix my vi, please.  Thank you.

Incidentally, in my world, open-source stops at the WinAPI.

In other words, mathematically speaking, the solution must be in the range [LabVIEW (NI OEM,) WinAPI].  Outside libraries, no matter how well written are not in that range.  Please help me fix MY software based on your experience, dear LV veterans. Thank you! 🙂

That's why the C sources of the library are also available for download.

Either you (plural) can and will help me fix my code or you can't or won't.

What's the real reason I want help with my code?  What kind of a question is that?  I'm here. I have an issue. In the past I've been told to post my code lest I (or others have heard it) can't be helped. (Frankly, I find this forum more helpful than NI. Did I say that out loud?)  I have now posted my code. There is a problem with it, and I still have yet to get it debugged. That's the reason I created this thread. If you want to get deeply philosophical about it, I exist. Frankly, I'm trying to learn and I need to learn and I don't learn by being sent away to go read something or download things. I learn by getting those more experienced than I to show me my error, how I went wrong. Now please help me by examining my code.

Incidentally, if I find my error, I will be sure to post it, here, in this thread.
