Hey guys, I recently had a problem with an installation of LabVIEW runtime and I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience.
I sent a customer an installer that includes my software and its dependencies like LabVIEW runtime, DAQmx runtime, NI Vision, etc... They installed it, and then tried to run my software and got this error:
Since many other customers have used the same installer without any issues, I told this customer to try un-installing and re-installing. In the end, they just did a "repair" install on the LabVIEW runtime engine through NIPM. After that, they were able to run my software without issue.
Has anyone else had this happen or have ideas what might have gone wrong in the installation? Is there anything I can do to prevent an issue like this in the future? We distribute this software to lots and lots of customers all over the world, who have varying levels of technical proficiency, so a smooth install process is really important for us.

Was the computer restarted after running the installer?

I'm not 100% sure if they restarted it, but I think they did.
I created the installer by building an NI package with the "Create a package installer" option and then I made it into a self extracting zip file. Could that affect the install process? Maybe if something weird happened when it was unzipping?
