LabVIEW FPGA Tick Duration

I'm new to the FPGA world, so perhaps this is a trivial question, but here goes:

How does one determine, programmatically, how long a tick is in LV FPGA?  I'm trying to time a variable-duration acquisition loop using the Loop Timer vi, but there is too much jitter if I use the ms/us input.  I would like to go more primitive (i.e., ticks), but how do I know how long a tick is?  It seems that the tick duration is determined at compile time, but I cannot find a property node that tells me the approximate tick duration.

The Help for the Tick Count VI will tell you this: Ticks—Sets the counter units to a single clock cycle, the length of which is determined by the clock rate for which the VI is compiled.

By default this will be the 40MHz clock. Most likely this will give you the resolution you are after.
