LabVIEW Crash on startup (Exception: Noncontinuable exception (0xC0000025) at EIP=0x0000000000000000)

Solved!

Hi,

LabVIEW failed to close a project and I manually killed LabVIEW (It was trying to close a vi I had running in the background, but after a couple of minutes I just ended LabVIEW from task manager). Running LV19 SP1 64bit. This has happened not often, but I've seen this before. Starting up LabVIEW again, and I get this error straight up:

We apologize for the inconvenience

.....
Exception: Noncontinuable exception (0xC0000025) at EIP=0x0000000000000000

Version: 19.0.1f3 (64-bit)

So I start the routine:

  1. Restart the computer - same error
  2. Start another version of LabVIEW (LV17 64bit, and LV20 64bit) - same error, except for the version
  3. Repair LV - same error!
  4. Uninstall all LabVIEW, reinstall LV19 64bit - same error!!
  5. Start MAX, works.....
  6. Start LV as admin - locks in loading screen initializing resource files, nonresponding.....

Could there be some common files or registry that makes this happen?

I only see three more things to try.

  1. Ask for help. - This post
  2. Ask for help on a higher level by sacrificing a goat and give the blood to the gods.
  3. Reinstall Windows 10 64bit and LV

Ok, update....

full uninstall again
clearing
   C:\ProgramData\National Instruments
   C:\Program Files\National Instruments
   C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments
   C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\National Instruments
   C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\National_Instruments

  • reboot
  • Install LV2017 64bit
  • reboot
  • starting LV2017 64bit

The first time it shows the "splash screen", but just locks initializing the resources. After 30minutes I killed it. The second time it crashed again with the original exception.

Then I guess it is only the registry or some shared component in Windows that could cause this to happen. I guess I just have to sharpen my knife and do the offerings to the Gods. But as a weak believer in the effect of offerings, I fear I have to reset my Windows...

This is just crazy...
