LabVIEW Control of LCD Display

I'm trying find a LabVIEW.vi to control an LCD display ranging from 16x2 to 32x6 with a serial interface.  I just started using LabVIEW this summer and the LCD.vi's I've seen are above my comprehension.  If anyones had success with this I'd really appreciate the web address, item number and VI you used to drive it.  Thanks

Hi,

The VI's that you use are most likely going to depend on what LCD Display you are using, and what type of serial commands it expects.  If someone has coded them for your particular LCD Display, then this should be too tough.  If there isn't an API for it already, then you'll have to figure out what serial commands the LCD display is expecting.  Lets start by getting the actual model of the display screen.

I was just looking at this same topic today.  I just received a LCD Display and was looking at how to do this with LabView as a project and then programming a Pic 16f690 to do the same thing. 

I'm doing a bit of self teaching this summer myself
