LV15 Desktop Execution Trace Toolkit not installing

Solved!
Go to solution

I just upgraded/installed LabVIEW 2015 Developer Suite, but the Desktop Execution Trace Toolkit (DETT) errored out and failed to install.

I tried installing the DETT after getting prompted by NI Update, but suffered the same error.

Any ideas?

Hi,

Did you check the readme for DETT to make sure you have all the requirements?

http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/375337a.html

...If you're installing from a Dev Suite, i expect that you probably do.

It might be worth trying a force reinstall on just the DETT if everything else from the Dev Suite installed succesfully. This link has info on that, but be sure to pay attention to the note about using this with a suite installer.

Hope this helps!

Trent, thanks, but no dice.

This is just weird and annoying...

I have exactly the same problem.

I looked into it a little bit and it is reporting that the install fails because of a missing LV2013 dependancy.

Looks to me like someone messed up the packaging on this one.

I have a failure on my windows 8 notebook machine which only has LV2014 and LV 2015 BUT it installed fine on my desktop win 7 machine which has every LV version from 2012.

I was kind of hoping it would just magically just work one day as I haven't made use of the toolkit yet but seeing your post I guess maybe it won't unless it gets raised.

So thankyou for posting I look forward to the answer . Smiley Happy

I'll call NI support today to get this ironed out.

Per NI's suggestion, and not knowing what the underlying problem was...

Installing the downloaded toolkit worked for me.

Good luck.

Downloading directly from the site worked for me. I just had to, during installation, uncheck suport for L V2013 and LV2014. I left only support for LV2015 checked.
