LV 8.0 PDA Image Depth Error

I am glad to hear that the draw 8-bit pixmap is fixed in PDA 8.20... nonetheless,I realize that the Draw flattened pixmap is not yet supported on the PDA module.

Can u shed some light on.. the VI created.. is there something wrong with the 2D DCT block.. algorithm/operation..

Hi Gang:

With LV PDA V8.2 this image depth bug still exists.  Attached is a project that shows this.  The PDA Load Image File.vi primitive still gives a 24-bit image depth even though my image is an 8-bit png file.  The project is set to debug mode and there is a breakpoint at the vi primitive.  Make sure the file smallmap.png is located in My Documents folder of your device.  I tested this on a real Windows Mobile 5.0 device and not in emulator mode.

After much investigation, we have found that the Pocket PC functions that can be used by PDA Load Image File are unable to retrieve the bit depth of the image being loaded. If the image is a bmp, the workaround is to use PDA Read BMP File instead. If the image is of any other type, it displays correctly in the picture control, but the output image cluster will always have bit depth set to 24. We apologize for the inconvenience caused.
