LABVIEW 8.0 DATALOGGING RUN-TIME SYSTEM installation failure

Hi,

I tried to install the LABVIEW 8.0 DATALOGGING AND SUPERVISORY CTRL MODULE RUN-TIME SYSTEM FOR WIN 2000/XP on a computer running Windows 2000 pro. sp 4.0 and during the istallation process I get an error "The NI_MSDE installation has failed..." and then it rolls back.

Does someone can help?

Hi Aviram,

Thank you for contacting National Instruments.  Does the error give any more information about why the installation failed?  Does it say the instance name is invalid or another version is already installed?  There are several reasons this could happen.  This error means that DSC could not install the Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine.  Please take a look at this Microsoft Knowledge Base article that describes several symptoms and workarounds to see if this is useful.  Any more information you can provide about the specific error message would be helpful in troubleshooting this issue.
