Is new student edition 8.2

I posted this in the NXT forum but it seems dead.

Does anyone know if the student edition with book, due out 8/21/06, is 8.2?  I have 8.1 at work for Windows but want to use it on my Mac at home to program the Mindstorm NXT.

It says Mathscript is covered in the book but does not specifically say what version it ships with, other than 8.

I believe the student edition is 8.0.  I don't think there is an 8.2 student edition.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I just looked at my 8.01 Windows and it has Matlab scripting, something that I thought only 8.2 has.  Turns out it uses active-x anyway so it won't work on Mac.  I thought it was interpereted and did not require Matlab.

I think you might be getting the MATLAB Script Node (which has been available in LabVIEW since version 5.0, I think) with the MathScript Node, which is a native Math environment introduced in LabVIEW 8.0.  MathScript is currently available in Windows only (as of LabVIEW 8.2), but LabVIEW R&D is looking into supporting it on Mac/Linux in a future LabVIEW version.
