Internal clock vs PFI External Clock

Hello,

I am using a PicoScope 4824 instead of a NI- 5102 (PCMCIA obsolote) digitzer card.

on 5102 i am using chan A, chan B, Trigger, and PFI. i am using PFI as input to an external clock of 6.67 MHz that i am generating from a different machine.

now that picoscope does not have an ext clock input. can i use the internal clock and configre its timebase to be 6.67 MHZ and still get the same functionality.

or

can i use one of the input channel connected to an external clock and base the other channel inputs on that clock signal? if so how to do it

any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Hi there,

You can set your device at 6.67 MHz and it could work (same functionality), but the NI-5102 and the 4824 probably won’t be synchronized and since the clock comes from different source they may be could behave similar but not the same.

For your other question, I think that you should ask to Pico Technology.
