Did not work for me as the tool returns an error.
Instead I used MAX : Tool>>Reset Configuration Data after making sure I first exported all my configuration (devices, tasks, channels, scales...) as described here. Then the Max config was imported back in.

PS: The issue manifests itself with DAQ Device control drop downs not seeing/finding any device: the drop down does not drop at all.
Some VIs using Daqmx open with many GUI object not showing up at all, and LV stops responding. (LV 2011). This issue appeared first after installing daqmx on a Win 7-64 laptop...

Hi BSI,
Does your device show up in Device Manager? This Knowledge Base article may be helpful for you: http://ae.natinst.com/public.nsf/web/searchinternal/0819391ca91b3eb38625731d00024649?OpenDocument .

Yes the device ( simulated) showed up in Max.
DAQmx 9.3.5

Hi BSI,
Sorry about that: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/0819391CA91B3EB38625731D00024649?OpenDocument
Additionally, DAQmx 9.3.5 is not supported with LabVIEW 8.2. You can see this in the driver readme. (C:\Program Files\National Instruments\NI-DAQ\readme.html). This may be causing the issue.
DAQmx 9.1.1 is compatable with LabVIEW 8.2. You can download it here: http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/2034/lang/en. I recommend that you check the readme for DAQmx 9.1.1 to make sure that your device is supported for this version of DAQmx.
Hope this helps!

Additionally, you can check if the device shows up in device manager by going to Start > Control Panel > Device Manager. It should show up under Data Acquisition Devices.

The initial post in this thread was using LV 8.2.1.
I have been using using LV 2011.
Again today, the MIG error came back for no apparent reason. I have now migrated to LV 2011 SP1, and have just been asked to applied LV 2011 SP1 f2 patch... I will report back MIG error if and when it appears.
