A more comprehensive distribution of LabView7.1 has been detected on the system. Please remove the other distribution before installing this distribution of Labview 7.1

My control panel (add/remove software doesn't show any entry of Labview neither I found any folder under program files or windows/system.

Try running the registry editor.  Hit Windows Key +R, then type 'regedit', and look under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->Software->National Instruments.

If you're looking to do wipe all things NI, then just delete all those entries.  Otherwise, just delete all LV related ones.

If you have all the discs to replace all the extras (MAX, Vision, DAQ, etc if you've even got them), then I'd recommend just wiping everything and starting over.

Hi I tried regedit earlier. There is no entry for National Instrument or LABVIEW or NI anywhere in the registry. Thats why I am wondering!

patelbaroda,

Most NI software is listed under the "National Instruments Software" label under the Add/Remove programs.  If you find this entry and then click on the remove button you will be prompted with a complete list of all of the NI software that's installed on your machine.  From here you should be able to uninstall Labview.

Hope this helps,

Hi Justin

There is no listing of NI any where nor in Add/Remove program files, not under C:\Pragram files, not in registry. I also used the MsiBlast utility as suggested by NI application engineer.

Thanks.

patelbaroda,

If there are no National Instruments entries in you registry, the only other thing that I can think of is to repair MSI.  In the past this error has come up even though there is no NI software installed if MSI is broken.  You can usually fix MSI by running a reinstall of the latest windows service pack or doing a repair on the operating system.  Unfortunately, if this doesn't fix it then the only other option might be to format your hard drive and reinstall.

Pragnesh,

An MSI is a Microsoft Installer.  It's the windows utility that a lot of software installers are based on.  Here's a few good links on how to try and repair MSI.
