Incomplete Tutorial & DAQ Config. Required

Hello,

We've bought LabVIEW (ver. 6.1) just recently.
It's new to us.

1) The tutorial is not complete...
In Activity 11. (Function Generator) at point 8. - there's nothing like Functions>>Analyze>>Waveform Generation palette...
So I am not able to add there any of the Waveform VI's... The solution is also not running.
No way to make the waveform part. The VI's are just missing.

2) And I'm not able to run the DAQ Solutions. By the manual it should start with "Welcome to the DAQ Solution Wizard!", but it's starting with an error
message about the configuration "DAQ Hardware Configuration Required"... It's true, that we don't have any device connected through any port yet, but I just need to send a Byte through LPT,
to test some swithes. And as I wrote, by manual it should start with something else.

Thank you
Stan

If you didn't install NI-DAQ or don't have any DAQ hardware from NI then you can't do any of the tutorials for DAQ. If you want to communicate to the LPT, then you might want to use VISA or Inport/Outport functions but a special patch is required to use Inport/Outport with WinNT,2K, or XP. You can doa search of the forum for LPT or line printer to get more information to get started.

Also, there are many analysis VIs that are only part of the Full or Professional versions of LabVIEW. If you have the base package, you might not have the waveform generation VIs.
