Icon file problem

I get the following error while trying to use my custom icon file in my build
What could be the problem?

I created the icon file using a freeware called Irfan View v 3.99. The metadata of the file is as follows
Compression level - 6 (on a scale of 0 - 9)
Encoding - Binary

It seems the problem is related to selecting True color (24 bits) when you save the .ico file.

Thank you very much Oswald for the reply.

Based on your suggestion, i changed the color settings of the icon file I had been using, and was able to fix that error.
