I64 SI Notation bug?

Can anyone tell me if the following bug exists in the latest version of LabVIEW? It does exist in 8.6.

If you write a number to an I64 numeric indicator and set it to display SI notation, the number may not display correctly. For instance, the number 27449595, if set to SI notation and three digits of precision, should show 27.450M.  Instead, it shows 27.4:M.

The problem seems to occur if more than one of the least significant digits would need to change to achieve the desired precision. For instance, if the number above is set to 5 digits of precision, it will show 27.4495:M instead of 27.44960M.

This only happens with I64 types. I32 works fine.

I can confirm this behavior in LV 8.6.1f1.

It should also be noted that this occurs for I64 and U64.

Hi wired,

Thank you for reporting this bug. It is a known bug and a Corrective Action Request has already been filed. I do not know in which version of LabVIEW this is expected to be fixed, but hopefully soon.

Thank you for choosing National Instruments.

Would be nice to reference the CAR ID when answering that it is a known bug.

Perhaps it was a known bug as of Wednesday afternoon, when I was given a new CAR ID by NI. They did not indicate that it was already a known bug and they issued a CAR ID of 179239.

Thanks for posting the CAR ID, Wired.

I believe Rolf's comment was actually directed towards NI Aaron.  Smiley Wink

Hi rolfk,

I apoligize for not posting the CAR number. The CAR I was referring to is 123331. It is worded differently, however, I believe the fix will be related to the bug wired reported. Thanks again for reporting this bug.

Thank you for choosing National Instruments.
