I would like labview to interact with powerpower instead of simply using activex, (along with property nodes, ref numbers and automation references) to launch powerpoint. i.e. i want to develop a program which would not rely on the slide timing settings (as allocated in powerpoint), but to recongnise that a motor has reached a specified location and then advance the slide. Has anyone got any suggestions?

You can place an OLE container in the front panel, and use property and invoke nodes to control it, passing slides as you want. This way you don't open Powerpoint, but have the powerpoint window embedded on the front panel. But i still think using a picture ring control is a better option.
