There are a couple of options. Eurotherm's iTools software is designed to communicate with Eurotherm controllers using the Modbus RTU protocol. It will autoconnect to Eurotherm controllers, but you can also create custom instruments that will communicate to any Modbus instrument. There is an OPC version of iTools available, and I have been using it for a couple of years with Labview. If you are just looking to get a few parameters from your instrument, you may be able to use the attached VI's. I downloaded this either from ni.com or Eurotherm.com. You have to know the Modbus addressing somewhat, but the communications protocol is taken care of.
