First thing you can try is repairing the installation (Control Panel>>Add\Remove Programs>>NI Software).
If that didn't help, and you installed it with LV, look at the CDs to see which CD has the DAQmx installer. Then, look inside the CD. The VIs are most likely stored in CAB files, which windows should be able to search in and open. Search for the name of the specific VI and copy it over the current file.
In general, it's very important not to change VI.lib VIs, because you can't know how the change will affect other VIs using them and because when you open your VI in another computer or version it won't be updated. If you do edit it, you should save it under another name.
