I can't see the vision 7.01 and IEEE 1394 icons in Labview 8

I'm testing Labview 8 in the evaluation model to see if it  I'm upgrading from Labview 7.1.1 and I installed Vision 7.0.1 and IEEE 1394 2.01.
My Problem is that I can't find the icons anywhere any more and it it hard to work this way.  My old 7.1.1 programs no longer work because they can't find for example the IEEE 1395 icons.

What should I due to beside reinstalling the vision 7.01 and IEEE 1394 2.01?  to make the old programs work?

These instructions don't work for  IEEE 1394 since labview 8th is not an option as far as I can see, only laview 7.0 and 7.1 is supported

Karlheinzs,

Actually, if you view the links previously posted, they do give instructions explaining how to use the IMAQ IEEE 1394 driver with LabVIEW 8.

On the hand, it sounds like your programs no longer work in LabVIEW 7.1.1, is this correct? do you IMAQ Vision and IMAQ IEEE 1394 VIs no longer show up in LabVIEW 7.1.1?

If this is the case, the quickest possible solution would be to repair your IMAQ Vision and IMAQ IEEE 1394 installations.  This can be done by going to the Windows control panel and selecting Add/Remove Programs.  Then goto the National Instruments Software item and select the change button.  A new window will appear and you should be able to find your IMAQ Vision installation and select repair and then do the same for the IEEE 1394 driver.

I hope this helps,

I uninstalled labview 7.1.1 to get a clean system.  I guess I have to reinstall it first before I can proceed.

Thanks all,  I got it to work by manually moving the directories from 7..1.1. to 8.0 and by running the utilies you provided.  Thanks a lot.  Now i can contue the testing of the rest of the program for possible problems with 8.0.  Thus far all it convertable.
