How to start from ZERO

I was asked to develope a program using labview 5.0 to control a powersupply from Agilent Tech, model E3631A.

I have my labview 5.0 installed. VISA not yet install ( Do I need it ?)

Do I need to find a  E3631A driver? ( seems like cannot find the one using labview 5.0)

So now, what I can do?

Can someone pls enlighten me this newbie for labview

have you instruction manual to power supply ?
If so you can see the GPIB commands that one can utilise to 'talk with instrument'.
Have you MAX installed.
Using that you could also talk to instrument.
Check with NI if version 5.1 is a 'free upgrade' to version 5.0

They might not provide support as the latest version is several ahead light  years ahead.
Suggest that you try labview 8 ! The functionality that you need will definitely work for the trial period. After 30 days if a license is not
purchased, certain functions are disabled. Software can be downloaded from NI direct (480 MB)
Again speak to local NI office, they will be more than willing to help you.
