How to split the string from character position.

What string do you actually get? You keep saying it's not working but have not posted your code or explained anything in detail. Silly to keep referencing a 'mid' function that you aren't using.

What have you done so far? You need to show us your code.

Your example is not correct.

mid("HelloWorld",5,2);

The 5th character is o and you should get "oW" from  "HelloWorld".

If you want to go back in the string, then the 2 should be a -2.

That should give you a "lo" ( "HelloWorld" ).

substring.png

you have to play with the indexes obiously, atm start=0 and end=0 will result in one character

on another note:  you are clearly a novice with labview -- try read the documentation, use the help, the quick-drop, and search before posting .. google definately would have had an answer for you

first: you took the example that someone two post later said not being "correct"

second: why do you have DBLs and not Numeric Contants???

third: have you read any documentation/help regarding either the datatypes or the substring-vi you are using?

fourth: post you pseudo-c-code for what you want to do, i suppose you have no idea 😞

Why are you trying to make things so complicated?  You only need a single String Subset.  It has 2 inputs for index of start and the length.  Just use both.
