How to shutdown the PC using Lab View

Hi,


We are doing UPS project. In this project we have to shutdown the PC if there is a battery low condition. I want to know whether is their any library function in Lab View to shutdown the PC. And also we want make this labview to run in background whenever PC turns ON, is their any way to make Lab View VI to run in background process. We are also planning to send UPS Status through SMS message to specified mobile number using modem, is their any way to do this using Lab View. Please help me in this regards.

There were also various threads about sending SMS messages. Try searching the site for SMS. Basically, it depends on what kind of interface your modem has (DLL, AT commands).

About background process at starting, make an exe with your app and use any availeble program to configure it for run at start up. One quite interesting is STARTUP ( www.mlin.net)

Hi,

I want to send alert messages to specifed mobile phones using SMS through ethernet connections. Is their any way to do that. Please send any VIs if you are having.

What do you mean by "through ethernet connection"? Where is the connection to the cellular network on your side? I thought you said you have a cellular modem. If not, you may want to check out GSM toolbox (search for it here or on google) - they're supposed to have both the VIs and the hardware.

I guess TST pointed you in the right direction to send SMS. Search these forums and google.
I remember there are vis to do that using a Nokia cellular, but I don´t have any of them.
