How to save continious data acqusition?

hai,

i'm reading continious data from the analog port and saving the data
using "cont acq to spreadsheet". i have included "index array" and
"waveform scalar limit comparision" to see if the value goes above my
threshold and give an output.

Now i want to include the timing also to the same file, so that i can
know if the data is being written every instant. it can be even the
iteration number of the loop.

Also i'll be using more ports to acquire data. so i need to know how
to include all these in a single file.

thank you,

siva.

forgot to mention. i'm using labview 7.0 and PCI 6110 board.

Could you give me a bit more information? Spreadsheet files are great for compatibility, but you cannot save to them fast enough to keep up with a 6110 at full speed. So, the info I need to help you out...
  1. How fast are you taking data (acquisition rate)?

  2. Are you taking a chunk of data, writing it, then starting another acquisition or are you streaming a continuous acquisition to disk?

  3. If you are not streaming, how many data points are you taking in each acquisition?

  4. Are you using more than one 6110?
If you are acquiring data slow enough (about 100kHz or less on a modern PC), you can use the Write LabVIEW Measurement File Express VI to do most of what you want. If acquiring data faster than that, you will need a binary
method.
