How to read the position in an linear encoder, model AT112 from mitutoyo?

Hello,

any one knows how to read the positon in a linear encoder, model AT112 from mitutoyo, that have the signal out in the sinusoidal form?

thanks

Hello,

in order to help you, I need more information on the hardware an software that you want to use to perform this application.

Can you send more information please.

Regards.

I have to boards one PCI-6229 and one PCI-6602, and I have an AT112 from Mitutoyo, that is an linear encoder, but the output signals are sinusoidal.

Do you know if it's possible to read is value (position) with one of this cards?

regards

Hello,

Yes you can achieve this type of application with both, there is just need to pay attention that the signal respect the TTL requirements in terms of voltage and rise and fall time.

I tried to connect the AT112 like we do with a "normal encoder", but did not effect.

this are the Pin Assignment from the connector  on the AT112:

Pin:      Signal

1---------- 0V

2--------- 0V

3--------- +5V

4--------- +5V

5--------- Phase A

6-------- Phase B

7-------- Reference Voltage

8-------- Scale Abs point signal

9-14-------- Not assigned

15-------F.G.

Do you have any idea how to connect this to one of the boards, please?

best regards

You could use adapter 09AAA198 to get a 5um square wave signal. Only A and B signals.

You could use a 539-005; PSU200 (pulse signal unit); divide (the original 20um signal) by 4, 8, 10, 20, 40, 80, 100,  200 to change output resolution. RS422A, with single ended or differential signals.
