How to read and write from XL file

HI ,

I wanted to read a data from XL file and write a data in XL file by generating a report .Can any body help me out.Many examples are available on discussion forums but when I try to save and run those Vi .I am not able to run Showing error .Please tell what is going wrong as I m having latest labview 8.6 .

Is it possible for you to post the excel file and your VI which you have created to do a read/write?

You didn't answer the question that I asked. I just wanted to see your excel file and your example application so I can understand the error you are getting.

Do you have the Report Generation Toolkit installed in your system?

Probable cause: You have a different version of Excel than what the VIs were written for. The VIs use the "Value" property. Newer versions of Office (I think starting with 2003) changed this to "Value2".

You need to open the VIs that are broken, click on the run arrow to find the error, and change the property nodes to use "Value2".

OK... the VI you uploaded uses the Office Toolkit. But the libraries you had previously uploaded were something else. Now I'm confused.

You can try the examples given with the labVIEW 8.6.

just go to Help--> Find examples.
