Hello all,
I am quite new in image processing with LabVIEW. I cannot get images with 12-bits depth.
I use a PCIe-1429 card and a PhotonFocus MV-D1024-160. The camera allows a 8, 10 or 12 bits grey level resolution. With 8 bits, everything works fine. However, it does not accept 12 bits. If I wire "Greyscale I16" into the "Image Type" input of the "IMAQ Create" VI and then give the "New Image" output into the "Image In" of the "IMAQ Configure Buffer", the resulting output ("IMAQ Session Out") is automatically set to 8 bits.
If I go into MAX -> NI-IMAQ Devices -> img0: NI PCIe-1429 -> Channel 0: PhotonFocus MV-D1024-160 and then into the Acquisition Parameters, I see that the Bit Depth is an Indicator (read-only) and grey-scaled. It indicates 8 bits and cannot be changed.
What is wrong with my hardware or software? Does the frame grabber limit the bit depth?
I am running LabVIEW 8.2 under Windows XP.
Thank you for your help.
