How to find a E series Multifunction DAQ on Ethernet Connection ?

Hi,

I was wondering how it can be made possible to connect my 2 NI 6070E DAQ to the Ethernet.

All the connections are there but I have a hard time finding them.

I can use Labview 6 aswell as labview 10(trial ATM but that is not an issue).

Measurement and automatisation can not find them either!

Proberly there is a from setting in my network but I think not.

Thanks for your time!

Steve

Since those DAQ's don't have Ethernet connections, you will have to explain what you are trying to do.

My DAQs are connected to a NIC. That is connected to a HD etc etc.

The NIC is from Cisco Linksys and is compatible with my system.

But now when I launch Measurements and Automation's, I can not find my DAQs.

It is complicated situation, but I'll try to explain it as good as I can. 🙂

Hi Steven,

when you launch MAX on your NIC then it should find those DAQ cards...

It's a weird situation:

Why don't you "connect" the DAQs on your local PC?

How are the DAQs connected to your NIC?

Why do you expect MAX to find DAQ cards on remote computers?

Why do you start new threads without linking to your old ones to provide neccessary information?

Best regards,
GerdW

Hi

Why don't you "connect" the DAQs on your local PC?   Because the sensoring system is inside on the factory floor and I am not.

How are the DAQs connected to your NIC?    They told me it was PCI is that possible ?

Why do you expect MAX to find DAQ cards on remote computers?   To be honest that was a long shot, but I found a tutorial  (http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/6872) where they did this and I am trying to do the same thing.

Why do you start new threads without linking to your old ones to provide necessary information? I guess I forgot. Doing 10 things at the same time.

Thanks already for your time

Hi Steve,

that paper is talking about a CompactRIO system made by NI and connected by NI software. That is completely different to a CISCO NIC...

This link might be useful aswell.

We are using 2 of those.

My problem is not writing the code in Labview. The biggest problem is getting me into that situation 🙂 .

Indeed, but I was hoping that it might work.

Problem is that I need to use that NIC card, because the system should run on a 10Base2 connection.

And the only thing that can replace it is that Linksys NIC.

( Indeed, that is a full NI system in the tutorial. Just a bit to expansive for me.)
