How to display a circle on a specific position of screen?

Dear all,

I want to plot a circle on a xy-graph, but I want the circle location is on pixel position on the screen, instead of the relative position of a graph or panel. Could you please give me some idea how to do it

thanks

Smiley Wink

You can plot the circle as a waveform and add the position of XY graph with the position of the cicle in it,

or you can use a decoration and make it no visible when it is outside the graph.

First option is better (it is depending of what you want to do)

I am trying to follow your 1st method. However, I could not understand 1 thing. The position of xy graph is not equal to the position of the plotting area because there is a big edge between the plotting area and the xy graph. How should I handle this problem?

If you want to have a circle on a certain position on the screen, I would suggest a picture indicator rather than an XY-graph. With a picture indicator it is very easy to draw a circle at pixel coordinates.

I made a quick draft, how this could be done. This VI moves the front panel to a position according to the circle's center and its radius, resizes the FP and picture indicator and draws a circle & the center. I set the VI's properties to "no window border" that the calculation is made easier.
Since I cannot save this VI back to LV 8.0, I also attach the BD as PNG.

thank so much

Your answer is very good.

I want to know how to rate the answer? I want to give 5 stars to your answer, but I have no clue how to do!

And another thought is to use the back picture behind or infront of the XY- graph plot. It is accessible via property node of the XY- Graph and behaves like a picture indicator.

You have to have 50 posts on the forum before you can start rating messages and those radio buttons would appear.  It looks like he has only about 27 right now.
