How to define COM port?

Drivers are not available

I apologize - maybe my assumption was incorrect.  My assumption was that you had ported the whole thing to a version of Windows > Win95.  I assumed when you mentioned that the drivers were converted, that you converted them as part of a port.  If you are still using these drivers with Win95, the computer is around twenty years old; therefore, it could be anything.  File corruption on the hard drive, physical COM port gone bad.  (Did you check Device Manager?  I believe Win95 had Device Manager.)

Billko makes a good point.  Please tell us more about your system.

  • Describe the PC.  About how old is it?  How much memory does it have?  What processor is it running?
  • Describe the OS.  If Windows, what Version (95, XP, 7, 10), what Service Pack (or in the case of Windows 10, what "Edition"), and is the OS 32-bit or 64-bit?
  • What version(s) of LabVIEW are installed?  What version of the LabVIEW Drivers are installed?  (You can find out much of this by opening MAX and expanding the Software Tab -- take a screen shot, if it will fit).
  • Are you planning to only run the software on this PC, or do you want to run it on another machine?
  • Do you have access to someone local with LabVIEW experience who can serve as a mentor when necessary?  Are there Engineering Students around?
