I would like to connect a linear encoder using ni 6008 but i don't know how to do it.
I know that ni 6008 has one PFI channel.
Can i use other digital channel in combination with the PFI to connect the encoder?
Thank you
Francisco

Hi Francisco,
connecting is one problem - the other (and more important) one is analyzing the signals…
The USB6008 has only one high-speed PFI, all those other DIs are only software-timed and so just capable of ~100Hz sample rate. When your encoder is rather slow (or only outputs a low amount of pulses in relation to movement) you could use the AI pins to read the signal (capable of 10kS/s in sum) - with the disadvantage of doing the signal analysis on your own…

Thank you for your quick replay!!!!
What about using a Ni USB 6210?
