How do you change the name of an Xcontrol?

I want to change the name of an Xcontrol. I right click it and selects rename and everything seems to work fine until I restart LabView. The Xcontrol with the new name seems to have lost its connection to its abilities (Data.ctl, Façade.vi, etc.) and it looks like these abilities uses the old name as its prefix in the namespace. Is there a way to link the abilities to the xcontrol or another way to rename it?

Which "component" of the XControl do you rename ? *.lvlib, *.xctl, ... ?

I tried to rename the *.xctl.

You should do the rename in the LabVIEW project, make sure you save all the changed files (any part of the XControl should be changed).
It looks like you changed the xctl file on disk.
