I have a LabView project written in 8.2.1 software. The host PC has a PCI-6238 I/O card occupying a slot. This card has a combination of analog in/outs and digital in/outs. After installing the card, the card and channels appeared properly in both the project, when I created a NI-DAQmx Task, and Automation Explorer. I thought that I could simply create the necessary NI-DAQmx Tasks and then create variables to bind directly to those tasks. The idea being that I could avoid some programming on the block diagram, in terms of DAQmx Reads, Writes, etc. The project is acting in an inconsistant manner. Sometimes when I browse to link a variable to a Task, all of the defined Tasks appear. Other times, none of the defined Tasks appear. Even when they do appear and I can bind a variable to one of them, the value of that variable doesn't appear to be getting passed to/from the real-world device. Does anyone have any advice to give or experience to share in this arena?
