Don't use run continuously...use a 'while loop' with a stop condition...

Search the LabVIEW Help for 'While Loop' for more information.

As noted, don't use Run Continuously. That mode is intended for debugging, not for normal operation. It's equivalent to you pressing the Run button all the time, so your VI starts from the beginning each time.

I would think the name "Run continuously" would be enough of a clue to tell someone who wants to run something only once not to use that button.Smiley Surprised

As noted, a while loop will do that. If you have not already done so, it is recommended that you go through the tutorial(s) and look over the material in the NI Developer Zone's Learning Center which provides links to other materials and other tutorials. You can also take the online courses for free.

well a while loop will run untill you terminate it or it reaches the conditions you set

if you want to run it once and only once than you don't need a while loop, you could also use a while loop with an event structure
