How can I write the points in a waveform to disc

I have a triangle waveform consisting of 1000 data points, which I need to send to my experimental apparatus. How can I write these data points to a file on disc, so that I can apply the waveform to the apparatus

Write to Measurement File, Write to Spreadsheet File, Export Waveforms to Spreadsheet File, Write To Text File, etc, etc.

Have you tried any of the functions on the File I/O palette or have you looked at any of the many examples that come with LabVIEW.
