How can I use 2 network cards in LabVIEW?

I need to interface a networked Windows NT computer with a sensitive computer (non windows, running system control software). I am looking for basic communication protocol support (UDP, FTP). From previous posts, I see LabVIEW will not support 2 network cards (as of 5.1). I assume the only option is separate c code (called from LabVIEW) that communicates on the second NIC. Has anyone run into similar issues, have ideas/insights on how to address the limitation of 1 NIC support from LabVIEW?

If you're using V5.1 and it doesn't work with more than one NIC, upgrade. V6.0.2 running on WinNT or W2k recognizes two NIC cards transparently. You access a resource on either network and LV just finds it... I have several systems running this way.

One NIC is a corporate intranet connection that eventually ties to the outside world. I use this connection to FTP data to a central site. The other NIC is a local in-plant network that I run VIserver over. Neither connection requires any special configuration.

If you're running LV 6+ and can't get this to work, start checking the network configuration--it isn't LV's fault.

Mike is correct about LabVIEW not caring about 2 NIC's. Though must of our systems have been upgraded to 6.02 or 6.1, we still have a few running 5.1.1 and they work fine. As long as the NICs are configured correctly, you should have no problems. A key to configuring them correctly is use a different subnet for each NIC.
