How can I set my instrument to zero state if my program hangs?

do you have any idea on how can I can control my instrument be reset if my computer hangs and the solution was the command ctrl+Alt+delete, the problem was that if I exit my program the the instrument will maintain its current state, causes damage to my unit.

You could write a mini-program that would write a reset *RST to the
instrument, then add it to your computers startup folder.

You could use a watchdog counter with your instrument, sitting between some hardware output of your PC and the reset line of the instrument you are controlling.

This could be an electronic naturally incrementing counter that is set back to zero by your labview program within a loop. If the Labview programs locks up, the counter will lose the command from labview and will count up.

Once at a preset number the instrument can be reset.

This might sound like overkill, but the lock-up problem means you can no longer control anything with the PC so you have to rely on something else to reset your instrument.

Hope this helps,
Mike
