This is just some error information I've found out relating to the
niswitch DMM Switch Handshaking.vi. I was getting an error in the niDMM
initiate.vi when I tried to run this example program with the correct
hardware configured from NI. I had all the newest versions of the
NI-DAQ and DAQmx drivers (etc.) installed. I was later told that the
4060 has a driver compatability issue when using it with DAQmx devices
or switches. Apparently there is a software fix in the works for later
release, but for now I had to roll back the driver to version 7.4 (for
DAQ and DAQmx). Additionally I had to remove VISA 4.0 and Compliance
package 2.5 and install earlier versions of those (3.2 and 2.4
respectively). After all this I learned that NI is trying to phase out
the 4060 for the more expensive and DAQmx compatible 4070/1/2 DMMs. The
good news is that it's working fine now and collecting hundreds of
samples in a short period of time (after the 4060 goes through it's
initialization, which takes a second or two). If anyone is interested
in the program, I can post it upon request. Currently I'm working on
data storage using the database toolkit in parallel with saving the
data as a text file to the hard disk (for redundancy).
