Help with Magnetic Pickups for RPM measurement

Hello,

I need to simulate a program of RPM measurement via magnetic pickups in LabVIEW. Can I get a direction or a program which will help me with it ?  frequency is known and I need to analyse every period seperately and display it's time period on the front panel.

What type of magnetic pickup?

For the simple coil&magnet type I would try a relay coil connected to the headphone out of the soundcard and use LabVIEW to output the frequency I need.

(Just to make it LabVIEW relevant 😄  ..  other soundcard tool software can be used too 😉 )
