Hardware triggered digital acquisition

Hi,

I would like to measure frequency of rotation of an encoder after let's say bit number n of a known digita waveform is constant for 3 seconds. I assume I need to use counters to measure frequency but I don't know how I should use the trigger signal. Is there any example that can help me on this

Hi tintin,

What kind of encoder are you trying to measure?

If the output is just a standard pulse train of varying frequency, you can use DAQmx functions to measure it.

Here's an example that will do just that.

Good luck!
