HP8341 status query in CW mode

Hi,

I'm trying to control an HP8341B in Labview. I am using the standard driver from the NI site. However when I set it to run in CW mode, the sweeper swaps to the correct mode but then fails to respond to the status query (OS) and times out, yet in other modes it responds normally. Is there any way to check the status of the sweeper in this mode?

Hi Mike,

This is tricky to answer on this info alone.
The best advice is to check the command that is being sent and try it directly through Measurement and Automation Explorer's Instrument I/O Assistant. Refer to the User Manual for your 8341 for the commands being used.
Try as much to verify the operations manually. If the commands work ok here then there is something wrong with the instrument driver itself. If this is the case I would recommend using the Execution Trace functions in Labview to determine the operation for the code and hopefully help find the cause.
